This very attractive stone holiday home is located with amazing views of the Drakensberg Mountains, overlooking an open plain and is located alongside the Olifants River. The main portion of the home consists of a living room looking out over the pool, mountains and plain. The body of the house is elevated off ground level whereby maximizing the views. There are wooden stacking doors that open to the deck, with the pool and a built-in braai, located to the side.
On the other side of the living room, there are also stacking doors, which in turn open out unto the elevated patio deck under thatch which has river, plains and mountain views.
The living room is an open plan with a very neat kitchen. One enters the main bedroom from the living room, through an ornamental, yet functional security door than can close off the bedroom passage from the lounge. On either side of the passage there are doors, one with a pantry / linen room and the other a bathroom with toilet, basin and shower. The main bedroom is spacious in size and has a built-in safe.
Passing the kitchen is a room that can be used as a study or small TV-lounge. Or optionally as a small additional bedroom.
Exiting the main body of the home, along the walkway one goes up a small step to a large, cottage which serves as a guest room. It is a large bedroom with a space for a lounge area or kitchenette. Its en-suite with a shower, toilet and basin.
Behind the house leading off from the patio deck, is a boma area surrounded by a natural, indigenous garden and located under bushveld trees. A great place to sit in the evening with a luring campfire and discuss the game viewing of the day, or just to sit back enjoying a sun-downer with family or friends, while enjoying the beautiful scenery.
This bush home is neat and well-maintained. It offers a sense of space with its elevation and looks out over the mountain, open plain and the river. The plain area is alight with grazing game in the evening, including hippos from the river. The sounds of the flowing river trickling up to the house, forming a perfect symphony together with all the other nocturnal bushveld sounds and bird calls.
Lissataba means ‘View of the Mountains’. Lissataba Private Nature Reserve is an exclusive and amazingly beautiful reserve, without a land claim, located 30 minutes from Hoedspruit and borders the banks of the Olifants River. It was proclaimed 30 years ago and is a well-established and run reserve. There is a total of only 54 stands, of which 47 are built-up with houses, located on 2,500 ha. Each stand is 7,500 m2 in size. There is an excellent network of roads in place and dams, as well as game hides are to be found on the reserve. Additional Information
