This well constructed 4-bedroom house is spacious and offers comfortable living.
Located at the foothills of the Drakensberg, the home has a large lounge and opens out with stackable doors onto a large patio. It overlooks a drainage line with a water hole in the east and there are mountain views toward the west. The home is sold furnished and has a classic lodge bush style with various custom African and bush decorations. It creates a relaxed and peaceful environment and breaks the feeling one gets in the city.
Each bedroom is en-suite with bathrooms consisting of showers or baths. There are two bedrooms upstairs and two downstairs. The upstairs rooms are accessible from a wooden staircase. They have been fitted with aircons and have sliding doors and large windows allowing light to stream in. There is an upstairs sitting area for those wanting to have a quiet space or perhaps a creative study area. The wooden staircase offers warm natural colours matching the natural environment. The bathrooms have stone tiles and incorporate the rock features of nature.
The lounge has a fireplace and is open plan to the kitchen with large stackable sliding doors bringing in plenty of light. The kitchen has double sink and ample cupboard space. Throughout the day the patio offers shade. A firepit is located off the patio, as is a small jacuzzi pool for cooling down.
The property is sold partially furnished.
This house is priced to sell and ideal for a family wanting the four bedrooms and can be suitable for permanent living as well as holiday makers.
Properties on Canyon Game Reserve are 1hA in size (other estates smaller properties). Neighbouring properties to this Canyon house are already developed and houses well offset. No future development can come to create a disturbance. Canyon only has 44 plots of which only 11 are developed – very few cars and no noise pollution. Canyon has only one entrance, manned 24/7 and is difficult for intruders to enter as there is no main road access or passage over mountains.
There is no highway or road noise on the reserve at all. The R528 is too far and the Jonkmansspruit road is not an access way to anywhere significant. It takes 17 minutes to reach the four way stop at the Raptors View entrance in town. Approximately the same as from Moditlo and/or Wild Rivers.
There is no similar mountain/Drakensberg setting anywhere in the lowveld and owners have access to the mountains. Game roads and routes start from the edge and close to this Canyon property and are very user friendly. All power lines are buried and water is from the Blyde system, not municipal. This house has its own waterhole, regular visits from game, especially giraffe, nyala, impala and Kudu.
The combination of forested areas, with bushveld and the mountainous terrain ensure an excellent variety of birdlife – vultures are commonly seen as are eagles and the trees and bush host species such as touraco's and flycatchers, hornbills and drongo's.
This Canyon home is lock and leave – the splash pool is easily emptied and refilled, there are no gardens per se and the house requires no daily upkeep and/or maintenance. Rubbish collection is extremely reliable and the drop off point for bags is on the way to the main gate. Using the Jonkmansspruit Road, Kruger Park Orpen gate turnoff is extremely accessible and is within 30 minutes’ drive of the estate.
The property is equipped with high speed wifi and DSTV installation and dish. Nothing needs to be added.
There is a remote controlled burglar alarm system fitted into the house. This system is not in use and not maintained, but the elements are in place along with the wiring.
