FARM WATCH NEWS…………………………..

Wednesday-evening, 27 March, Farmwatch had great success.  We participated in an action

to catch Rhino poachers.  The action was under supervision of Lt Chris du Plessis of the SAPD

and Albie Nel.  Information was received about Rhino poachers being active in our area.

The group of men waited for them, but they never arrived at the place where they were said

to fuel up.

The suspects, in an old white Toyota Corolla, fled back to Acornhoek, where they probably

came from.  They were followed back, and one man and one woman were arrested in a house

there.  They had a R4-weapon of which the serial number was removed with a file, as well as a

magazine with 30 rounds of ammunition.  They also had 2 axes with them.

These brave men worked from 18:00 on the afternoon of 27 March, following leads and

running around, not giving up hope, until 01:00 on the morning of 28 March.

Yesterday, during a Hoedspruit SAPD Cluster meeting, the commanding officer thanked

the Farm Watch for their part in the arresting of prospective Rhino poacher and the

recovery of the R4 weapon and live ammunition.

CONTRATULATIONS, and THANK YOU for keeping Hoedspruit save and clean

from criminals!

Regards,
